  • Willamette View has a unique position available. The Director of Plant Operations will utilize multiple skill sets for the role. The individual must be able to work strategically as they lead, manage and develop campus facility and maintenance operations for multiple buildings on this 27+-acre site. In addition, the position plays a lead role in supporting master site development and emergency management systems as well as traditional campus-wide maintenance services. Successful candidates will be budget savvy with a high level of economic intelligence and a contemporary knowledge of building management systems. Tasked with leading the continued evolution of plant operation technology systems into the future, this individual must have proven ability with hands on management essential for the oversight of Environmental Services, Grounds, Security, Maintenance, transportation and general resident service programs. Responsibilities will also include general purchasing, capital repair and improvement projects for Willamette View and all personnel supporting these areas.

    The strategic focus of this position requires an individual committed to Willamette View's mission/vision/values; with exceptional leadership skills; a proven track record of successful team building; fiscal management, including the ability to engage and negotiate contracts; outstanding communication skills with a diverse population.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    Educational/Licensure Certification Requirements: Must possess a four-year college degree in, engineering, construction management or a related field. (Seven years of experience beyond minimum may be substituted for degree). Prefer certification in electrical or HVAC systems Valid Driver's License

    Work Experience:

    Must possess a minimum of seven years of demonstrated knowledge of facilities Management/physical plant operations experience; 10 years preferred.

     Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Must possess strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate strategically and relate well with all customers
    • Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop and implement tactical and strategic goals and objectives as assigned.
    • Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills
    • Must be proficient with skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, and be familiar with building technology systems.
    • Must have an inclusive management approach that cultivates an atmosphere of mutual respect and act with integrity in all matters of business processes and relationships and apply ethical standards when making decisions.
    • Must be able to work long hours including weekends and holidays.
    • Ability to read and understand building drawings and electrical schematics.
    • Working knowledge of HVAC, electronics and preventative maintenance programs.
